GULF SHORES, Ala. – The Lindsey Wilson women's track & field team finished in 39th place at the 2017 NAIA Track & Field Outdoor National Championships at Mickey Miller Blackwell Stadium.
The Blue Raiders collected eight total team points at the championships, tying for 39th place with Briar Cliff (Iowa), Shawnee State (Ohio), Clarke (Iowa) and Concordia (Mich.).
Senior Chanel Roberts accounted for all eight of those points after finishing as the national runner-up on Friday in the women's shot put event. She was the lone NAIA All-American for the women's team at the outdoor championships this season.
On Saturday, Paige Pettell was the final Blue Raider competitor in action for the women's team as she participated in the discus throw during the final day.
The freshman from Vine Grove, Kentucky finished in 19th place overall after recording a distance of 39.57 meters, which she recorded on her second attempt.
Wayland Baptist (Texas) captured the NAIA Women's National Championship with 75 points. Indiana Tech finished second with 56 points and Southern New Orleans placed third with 42 points.
