NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Emily Meeks connected for 13 kills and tallied four digs to lead the Lindsey Wilson College volleyball team to a 3-1 win against Brescia (Ky.) University before falling short against Cumberland (Tenn.) University 3-0 on Saturday in the Scott Jones Classic hosted by Trevecca Nazarene (Tenn.) University at Mark R. Moore Gymnasium.

Lindsey Wilson (2-7) also got a strong effort from freshman Audra McNabney with 12 kills, 15 digs and two service aces. Juniors Samantha Camp and Kayla Koerber added five kills each to the Blue Raider attack.

Brescia jumped in front 1-0 early on after winning the first set 25-19 before Lindsey Wilson sealed the win in three straight sets (25-17, 25-23, 25-20).

Action on the court didn't go as smooth against Cumberland, as the Lady Bulldogs swept through Lindsey Wilson 3-0 (25-8, 25-19, 25-22).

Meeks paced the offense once again against Cumberland, landing 10 kills. McNabney added seven kills, while Koerber sent in six. Sophomore Angela Mlachnik had a strong serving game with a pair of aces.

McNabey and sophomore Andrea Taylor earned all-tournament team honors for their play during the two-day event.
 
Lindsey Wilson returns to action at 6 p.m. CT on Sept. 7 at Georgetown (Ky.) College.
