CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. -- Lindsey Wilson College men's golf leads after the first day of the second annual President's Cup matches with Campbellsville University played today at Campbellsville Country Club.
The Blue Raiders lead 3-2 following today's five better ball matches. Ten singles matches on Sunday conclude the two-day event.
Senior Joe Hood and junior Derek Murphy earned a 2&1 win while sophomore Hayes Moore and freshman Ethan Johnson picked up a 3&2 win.
The teams of junior Nicholas Navarro and sophomore Antonio Arriola and sophomore Daron Morris and freshman Chad McPherson earned halves in their matches. Junior Chris Lewis and sophomore Ryne Burnett suffered the lone LWC loss (1-Down).
Arriola fired the best round of the day with a three-under par round of 68 over the 6,510-yard par-71 course. Lewis added a 73 and Murphy fired a 75.
In the regular team event, Lindsey Wilson and Campbellsville each shot a team-total of 300.
Campbellsville Quinn Cole led the Tigers with a one-over par 72.
The President Cup concludes on Sunday beginning at 8 a.m. CT at Campbellsville Country Club.
