COLUMBIA, Ky. -- Lindsey Wilson College head wrestling coach Corey Ruff has announced the addition of Jeremy McCoy, Charlie Pingleton, Ian Stephens and Michael Jacobson to the 2010 recruiting class, the school announced on Wednesday.

McCoy, a transfer from Ellsworth (Iowa) College is a native of Omaha, Neb., and was a three-time high school state champion and four-time state finalist. While at Ellsworth, the prep standout won a NJCAA National Title at 141-pounds during the 2008-09 season.

Ruff, a former Ellsworth Assistant, is familiar with the potential impact McCoy could have on his young squad.

"Jeremy has an assortment of intangible qualities that will benefit our squad," Ruff said. "He is going to be an asset to his teammates around his weight because he is such a great instructor of the sport. When he is focused, he is extremely entertaining to watch perform."

Pingleton is a transfer from the University of Indianapolis where he was a two-time NCAA Division II All-American at 149 pounds. At the high-school level, Pingleton was a two-time state runner-up from Greencastle High School in Indiana.

"Charlie and I were teammates and training partners for three years at Indianapolis and I'm glad to have the opportunity to work with him again," said Lindsey Wilson assistant coach Shane Perkey, who was an All-American wrestler at Indianapolis. "He is such a quiet, humble person, but he is already establishing himself as a mentor to our younger guys.

"He has been serving our country in the National Guard over the past couple years, but is eager to finish his education and fulfill his quest for an individual and team national title."

A graduate of Lafayette (Ga.) High School, Stephens was a four-time state finalist and captured gold his senior season.

Stephens joins the Blue Raiders after transferring from Tennessee Temple University. Competing above his normal weight class (174), he finished last season as the 184-pound NCWA National Champion.

"Ian really made an impression upon our staff at an open tournament last season," said Lindsey Wilson assistant coach Abe Cross. "When he contacted us about transferring last month, I knew that our program had also made an impression upon him. We are excited for him to share the intangibles that go with winning an individual national championship with our young team."

Jacobson, a Sparta, Wis.. native, transfers to Lindsey Wilson from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. While there, he compiled a 15-9 record as a true freshman competing at 174 pounds before being granted a medical redshirt last season.

During his time at Sparta High School, Jacobson amassed 104 career victories while qualifying for the state tournament as a junior.

"Mike is a fierce competitor that doesn't back down from anyone," Ruff said. "That is something we were really attracted to as a coaching staff."

The 2010 recruiting class at Lindsey Wilson includes two national champions, nine collegiate/high school All-Americans, 17 individual state titles and 27 state finalists.

"We are very pleased with this year's signees, but we are definitely not content," Ruff said. "We have acquired a great deal of talent, but right now our focus shifts toward the classroom.

"These young men are here to get an education first and foremost. They are in a great environment with tremendous support, and that is undeniable to anyone involved with our program."

The Blue Raiders are set to embark on their second season of competition in 2010. Fans will be offered a taste of what's to come at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 23 at Biggers Sports Center with the second annual Blue and White Dual.

The four transfer student-athletes join an accomplished group of recruits that includes the following signees:
