COLUMBIA, Ky. -- After changing to divisional play for the first time, Mid-South Conference coaches have picked the Lindsey Wilson College volleyball team to finish third in the West Division.

The Blue Raiders come in behind Georgetown (Ky.) College with 16 voting points and four first-place votes after appearing in the 2009 National Championship game and Campbellsville (Ky.) University with 13 points and one first-place vote.

With first-year head coach Heather Collins leading the charge, the Blue Raiders return sophomore Ashlie Haworth who finished second in kills last season and add newcomer Audra McNabney from Murrieta, Calif., who is equally as dangerous on the attack.

While Georgetown is the favorite in the West, new conference member Shawnee State (Ohio) University is the preseason favorite in the MSC's East.

Shawnee State received 14 points, including three first-place votes from the East Division coaches. Coaches were not allowed to vote for their own team.

University of Rio Grande (Ohio) is predicted to finish second in the East, receiving 13 points and a first-place vote. Pikeville (Ky.) College is third in the preseason rankings with 11 points, including the final first-place nod.

Conference newcomer University of Virginia's College at Wise received eight points, while West Virginia University Tech received four points to complete the East Division poll.

Georgetown received 16 points, including four first-place votes in the West Division preseason poll, while Campbellsville is projected second in the West with 13 points and the final first-place vote.

Lindsey Wilson received 10 points to finish third in the balloting, while University of the Cumberlands (Ky.) (seven points) and St. Catharine (Ky.) College (four) round our the West Division.

The 2010 MSC volleyball season concludes with the conference tournament Nov. 7-9 in Frankfort, Ky.

The Blue Raiders opened their season on Monday with a 3-0 loss to fourth ranked Lee (Tenn.) University. Lindsey Wilson returns to action this weekend in the Shawnee State Invitational Tournament.

The Blue Raiders first game is at 3 p.m. CT on Friday, Aug. 27 against Point Park (Pa.) College.
