COLUMBIA, Ky. -- When the final horn sounded to close out the 2009 season, the Lindsey Wilson College men's soccer program had claimed its eighth national title.

The Blue Raiders begin the 2010 season where they finished 2009, on top. Lindsey Wilson is ranked No. 1 in the NAIA Men's Soccer Coaches' Preseason Top-25 Poll, announced by the NAIA on Tuesday.

The No. 1-ranking marks the 51st rating period in the program's history Lindsey Wilson has enjoyed a top ranking.

Lindsey Wilson received 560 voting points, including 19 of the 20 first-place votes from the panel of coaches representing conferences, independents and unaffiliated groups across the NAIA.

Rounding out the top-five is No. 2 The Master's (Calif.) College with 538 voting points and No. 3 Simon Fraser (B.C.) University with 518 voting points. Fellow MSC member University of Rio Grande (Ohio) is fourth with 514 voting points and Embry-Riddle (Fla.) University is fifth with 465 voting points. No. 6-ranked Martin Methodist (Tenn.) College received 439 voting points and the final first-place vote.

The first regular season national poll is scheduled to be released on September 7.

Lindsey Wilson puts their top-ranking on the line at 7 p.m. CT on Saturday, August 21, as the Blue Raiders host St. Xavier (Ill.) University at Walter S. Reuling Stadium.
