COLUMBIA, Ky. -- Per Henrikson enters his first season as goalkeeper coach for Lindsey Wilson College men's soccer, the school announced on Thursday.

In the 1990's, Henrikson played with Royston Town and Tring Town of the Diadora League in England. The 1996 graduate of the University of Maine at Farmington had trials in Ireland (Cobh Ramblers), Scotland (East Fife) and Costa Rica (Puntarenas).

In 1993, Henrikson played for Lahore WAPDA FC, becoming the only United States citizen to play professionally in Pakistan.

Henrikson played collegiately at Maine-Farmington and Union (Ky.) College. His collegiate coaching experience includes training goalkeepers at Bates (Maine) College, Maine Maritime Academy, Trinity (Conn.) College, University of Vermont, University of Southern Mississippi and William Carey (Miss.) University.

In all of Henrikson's collegiate stops combined, he has coached nine all-conference and two honorable mention All-American goalkeepers.

Henrikson has served as the goalkeeper coach for the national teams of Pakistan, the Philippines and Bhutan. After being named interim head coach of the Bhutan men's national team, Henrikson became the first United States citizen to win a FIFA match as the head coach of another nation when Bhutan defeated Guam 6-0 on April 23, 2003.

Henrikson also trained goalkeepers with Wari Club of Bangladesh and worked as a guest clinician for the Football Federations of Sri Lanka and Nicaragua.
