COLUMBIA, Ky. -- Lindsey Wilson College volleyball head coach Heather Collins signed Haley Barnes to an NAIA Scholarship, the school announced on Friday.
A native of Lexington, Ky., Barnes played prep volleyball at Paul Lawrence Dunbar High School and was part of the BAVA, TEVA and KIVA club programs.
Barnes began playing volleyball in the seventh grade and started out playing in the middle for Dunbar as a freshman and sophomore.
As a junior and senior, Barnes made the transition to right-side hitter. Barnes led Dunbar to the state tournament in 2008 where it placed fourth and again in 2009 where Dunbar placed seventh in the state.
Lindsey Wilson opens its 2010 campaign at 7 p.m. CT on August 23 at Lee (Tenn.) University. The Blue Raiders first home match is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Sept. 14 against Campbellsville (Ky.) University.
