COLUMBIA, Ky. - Lindsey Wilson College signed Candace Stacy to an NAIA women's golf scholarship, the school announced on Saturday.

The Hazard, Ky., native is set to join the Blue Raiders for the 2010-11 season.

"I really like the atmosphere of the campus," Stacy said. "It's somewhere I'm going to feel comfortable and I hope to work my way into the top five during my freshman year."

The Perry County Central High School product has spent four seasons as the girl's golf team's number-one player and has qualified for the Kentucky State Tournament the past three seasons.

Stacy finished as runner-up all four years at the 12th Region Tournament, while taking top honors at the Eastern Kentucky Junior Golf Association (EKJGA) Wal-Mart Tour event this year. With her finish, Stacy was named the 2009 EKJGA Wal-Mart Tour Player of the Year.

Stacy plans to take a pre-med academic path at Lindsey Wilson and will major in Biology.
