COLUMBIA, Ky. -- Trina Slapeka and Jessica Weyreuter from the Lindsey Wilson College women's tennis team were each named 2010 NAIA Women's Tennis First Team All-Americans, the national office announced on Saturday.

The selections were made by the NAIA Women's Tennis Tournament Committee.

Lindsey Wilson finished the season with a 16-5 record after losing to Point Loma Nazarene (Calif.) University in the second round of the NAIA National Championship.

While both Slapeka and Weyreuter lost against Point Loma, the pair each helped seal the first-round win against Olivet Nazarene (Ill.) University with a win at No. 1 doubles and two singles' wins.

Weyreuter was also named a 2009-10 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete. 115 women's tennis players received the honor after being nominated by each institution's head coach.

A student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade-point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and have achieved junior academic status to qualify for the honor.
