COLUMBIA, Ky. -- Lindsey Wilson College swimming coach Alicia Kemnitz added Jonathan Hindman of Russellville (Ky.) High School to the 2010 recruiting class with the signing of an NAIA Scholarship, the school announced on Friday.

Hindman is an All-First Region performer and holds the school record in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 59.65 seconds. The Russellville, Ky., native, placed fourth in the Kentucky State Championships as a senior in the 100-breast.

Hindman, who plans to major in biology at Lindsey Wilson, considers breaking the one-minute barrier in the 100-breast as one of his biggest accomplishments as a prep swimmer. Getting under a minute required a full-year of training with his club team, Sky Swim Club, out of Bowling Green, Ky.

The chance to compete right away for a program in its early stages was the selling point for Hindman to choose to swim at Lindsey Wilson.

"I like the fact that swimming is a new program at the school and being a part of a small town," said Hindman. "Getting to contribute right away is awesome and the whole campus was so nice and clean, it just felt right."
