COLUMBIA, Ky. -- Myron Bradbury, a two-time state champion at Trinity High School in Louisville, Ky., signed to an NAIA scholarship with the Lindsey Wilson College wrestling team, the school announced on Wednesday.

Bradbury finished his prep career at Trinity as a four-time state place-winner, three-time state finalist and two-time state champion in his junior and senior seasons.

As a team, Trinity has also won back-to-back state team titles the past two seasons.

Bradbury, who is ranked nationally in numerous wrestling publications, placed second at the prestigious National High School Coaches Association (NHSCA) Sophomore Nationals.

"We didn't start recruiting Myron until this year's state tournament, and our staff was devoted to making up for lost time," said Lindsey Wilson head coach Corey Ruff. "He was coveted by a number of schools and they were all way ahead of us from a recruiting standpoint. We worked very hard to show the Bradbury family that this program will soon be synonymous with other top programs in the country."

That passion to be a leading program in the nation motivated Bradbury to ink with the Blue Raiders.

"My family and I weighed out all of the options and everything just leaned toward Lindsey Wilson," admitted Bradbury. "The coaching staff is very passionate and eager to contend for a team title. The school and its facilities are top notch and the current members of the team made me feel welcome during my visits.

"Everything considered this was the best fit for me for because it felt like home."

Bradbury, who Ruff says "loves the thrill of victory", has an opportunity to make his way into the starting lineup as a freshman.

"We expect Myron to force his way into the lineup at 125 pounds right away," said Ruff. "He'll have to earn it just like everyone else because we have a few guys that are not willing to relinquish that spot to him. Those guys are already working harder, and we need to facilitate that competition in the (wrestling) room at every weight class.

"He is extremely talented in all facets of the sport, and has already made an impact on our program. Myron is a devoted teammate and expects to be a part of a national-championship program."
