GEORGETOWN, Ky. -- The Lindsey Wilson College men's tennis did not drop a set en route to winning the Unaffiliated Tournament championship today 5-0 over Ohio Dominican University at the Lackey Tennis Center.
The Blue Raiders (16-4) earn a berth into the NAIA National Tournament May 18-22 at the Mobile Tennis Center in Mobile, Ala.
Lindsey Wilson cruised through the three doubles matches winning by scores of 8-5, 8-5 and 8-3.
Up 3-0, Lindsey Wilson received its fourth point when ODU's Bruno Meliber retired after dropping the first set to Blue Raider junior Andrews Moraes.
The next 20 minutes was a race to see which Blue Raider would close out the title.
Up a set in four other matches, junior Andre Santos claimed the decisive point with a 6-0, 6-1 win over Greg Dillon at No. 3-singles. The rest of the matches were stopped to give LWC the 5-0 win.
The Blue Raiders learn their opening round opponent on May 11.
