COLUMBIA, Ky. -- Lindsey Wilson College sophomore Trina Slapeka is the Mid-South Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Week, the conference announced on Monday.
The weekly honor is the third of the season for Slapeka. She joins teammate Jessica Weyreuter as a three-time winner of the award this season.
The Jurmala, Latvia, native, recorded a perfect week, winning a trio of singles matches and three doubles matches without dropping a set.
Slapeka lost just 11 games in six sets against the top-seeded players from University of the Cumberlands, Mars Hill (N.C.) College and Martin Methodist (Tenn.) College.
The sophomore teamed with Weyreuter to win in the top doubles spot by scores of 8-0, 8-2 and 8-2.
Slapeka led the 15th ranked Blue Raiders to wins in all three matches during the week as the team improved to 12-4 overall this season.
Lindsey Wilson returns to action on Thursday, April 29, in the NAIA Qualifying Tournament at Georgetown College.
