LEBANON, Tenn. -- A disastrous seventh inning proved to be too much to overcome today as the Lindsey Wilson College baseball team lost 6-3 to No. 3-ranked Cumberland (Tenn.) University at Ernest L. Stockton Field.

Tied at 2-2 entering the bottom half of the seventh inning, Cumberland (33-8) pushed four runs across thanks in large part to an error, a pair of wild pitches and five walks. The Bulldogs recorded just a single hit in the decisive inning.

The Blue Raiders (22-16) grabbed a 1-0 lead in the fifth on a RBI double by freshman Craig Mosier. Mosier finished the day 1-for-3 at the plate.

After Cumberland briefly took a 2-1 lead with a pair of runs in the sixth inning, senior Max Rhodes drove home the tying run with a single to left field.

Following the Cumberland four-run seventh, Rhodes added his fifth home run of the season in the top of the ninth for the final 6-3. Rhodes finished the afternoon 3-for-5 with a run and a pair of RBIs.

Junior reliever Jared Long -- one of five Blue Raider hurlers on the day -- suffered the loss. Long (1-1) allowed four runs on one hit in his two-thirds of an inning of work. Cumberland's Adam Sprague (4-2) picked up the win while allowing two runs on 10 Lindsey Wilson hits over eight innings.

Lindsey Wilson returns to action at 3 p.m. CT on Tuesday, April 13, as the Blue Raiders host Brescia (Ky.) University at Lindsey Wilson Park.
