COLUMBIA, Ky. -- The Lindsey Wilson College baseball team followed up a Friday sweep of Pikeville (Ky.) College with another pair of wins against the Bears on Saturday at Lindsey Wilson Park. The Blue Raiders escaped the opener with an 8-7 win, then used a five-run third inning to win game two 7-3.

The Blue Raiders are on a season high five-game winning streak after the four-game sweep of Pikeville.

Pitcher Max Rhodes faired well at the plate in game one, going 3-for-4 with a home run, five RBI and a run scored. Helping him of offense was shortstop Drew Barrett going 2-for-2 with an RBI, two runs scored and a walk.

Pikeville held a 5-2 lead in the fourth inning when Rhodes was replaced by Jeremy Greene who picked up the win over the final 2.2 innings. While allowing just one earned run during his stint on the mound, Lindsey Wilson responded with six runs over the final three innings to steal the win.

While Pikeville jumped ahead 1-0 in the first inning of game two, the lead was short lived as the Blue Raiders pegged the Bears with five runs in the third, which would be all they needed to win the game.

Lance Rose went the distance for Lindsey Wilson on the mound, striking out eight batters while allowing just five hits.

The Blue Raiders return to action at 2:30 p.m. CT on Sunday at Cumberland (Tenn.) University in Lebanon, Tenn.
