COLUMBIA, Ky. -- The Lindsey Wilson College baseball team came from three runs down in the fourth innings to earn a 9-7 win in game one and turned a four-run first inning into a 5-3 win in game two to complete a sweep against Pikeville (Ky.) College on Friday at Lindsey Wilson Park.

Second baseman Heath Barnes had a monster day at the plate for Lindsey Wilson, finishing 5-for-7 with three RBI, two runs, a home run, a double and two stolen bases in both games combined.

Center fielder Dustin Murphy went 4-for-6 with an RBI, a double, stolen base and a run scored, while third baseman Max Rhodes finished 3-for-6 with four RBI and two runs scored.

Pikeville (3-25, 1-16 MSC) and Lindsey Wilson (20-17, 7-11 MSC) erupted for three runs each in the second inning of the opener. By the bottom of the fourth inning, the Bears led 7-4 and were seemingly in control of the game. The Blue Raider, however, bounced back with a run in the bottom half of the inning, then finished off the comeback with five runs over the final two innings to earn the win.

Lindsey Wilson led off game two with four runs in the first inning, which would ultimately be all it needed to knock off the Bears 5-3.

Pikeville responded with two runs in the second and another in the fourth, but after the Blue Raiders added an insurance run in the fifth inning they shut down the Bears' bats the rest of the way.

Lindsey Wilson returns to action at noon CT on Saturday, April 10 against Pikeville at Lindsey Wilson Park.
