COLUMBIA, Ky.- After opening the match with a 3-0 lead due to three defaults because of roster limitations, the 15th ranked Lindsey Wilson College women's tennis team went on to beat Union (Ky.) College 8-1 on Thursday at the Lindsey Wilson tennis courts.
Due to the forfeits, Lindsey Wilson sealed the win with the No. 1 doubles victory. No. 2 doubles was a quick 8-0 shutout for the Blue Raiders, allowing Trina Slapeka and Jessica Weyreuter to prevail at No. 1 8-2 and seal the match.
Lindsey Wilson won three of the four singles matches played, as Slapeka took the only loss 7-5, 3-6, (10-7) to Aurilie Hascoet at No. 1 singles. Weyreuter continued her dominating play with a 6-0, 6-0 shutout at No. 2 against Ximena Aguilar.
Lindsey Wilson returns to action at 1 p.m. CT on April 12 at the University of the Cumberlands (Ky.).
