COLUMBIA, Ky. -- The 13th ranked Lindsey Wilson College men's tennis team edged 12th ranked Union (Ky.) College 5-4 on Thursday at the Lindsey Wilson tennis courts.
The Blue Raiders opened the match with a 1-2 deficit after doubles play. Union sneaked past the No. 1 seeded pair of Andre Santos and Andrews Moraes 9-8 (2), while Lindsey Wilson faltered again at No. 3 doubles 8-4.
Lindsey Wilson fought back with the two top seeds holding on for wins against Union. Luciani defeated Nicolas Erust 6-4, 1-6, 7-6 (3) at No. 1, while Andrews Moraes took apart Bartos Micher 6-1, 6-0 at No. 2 singles.
Antoine Pourin registered the deciding match with the overall score tied 4-4 with a 6-3, 6-4 decision against Alvaro Vargas.
Lindsey Wilson returns to action at 1 p.m. CT on April 12 at the University of the Cumberlands (Ky.).
