COLUMBIA, Ky. -- Lindsey Wilson College sophomore Trina Slapeka is the Mid-South Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Week, the conference announced on Monday.
Slapeka finished the week with a 4-0 record in singles and doubles matches combined to earn her first conference weekly award of the season.
The Jurmala, Latvia, native joined Jessica Weyreuter to beat Georgetown (Ky.) College's No. 1 seeded pair 8-4. Slapeka followed with a 6-4, 6-2 win over Georgetown's Adrienne Bartlett at No. 1 singles.
Slapeka and Weyreuter won their doubles match over Western Kentucky University's top pair as well, while Slapeka completed her undefeated week with a 6-3, 6-2 win over Western's Fiona Heuff.
Lindsey Wilson is 5-4 overall and 1-0 in conference play after topping Georgetown 6-3 and Western Kentucky 6-1.
