BOWLING GREEN, Ky. -- Tied 3-3 with Western Kentucky University, Freddy Luciani put together a 7-6 (7-5), 6-7 (5-7), 7-6 (7-1) win at No. 1 singles to give the Lindsey Wilson College men's tennis team a 4-3 win on Saturday.
Luciani took part in a rare match with a tie breaker in all three sets and made the most of the third set, jumping out to a large lead in the tie breaker to seal the match.
The Blue Raiders opened the match winning two of three doubles matches to earn the doubles point per NCAA rules and take a 1-0 overall lead into singles play.
Helping Luciani claim the win from the top singles spot were wins at No. 2 and No.5 singles as well.
Lindsey Wilson returns to action at 4 p.m. CT on April 2 against Bethel (Tenn.) College in Georgetown, Ky.
