GEORGETOWN, Ky. -- While six errors by the Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) College baseball team helped Georgetown (Ky.) College post a 9-6 win in game two, the Blue Raiders got a complete-game performance from pitcher Max Rhodes in game one, allowing just three hits, for a 2-1 win to earn a split with the Tigers on Friday at Robert N. Wilson Field.

Rhodes struck out three and gave up just two walks in seven innings of work on the mound in the win. Shortstop Drew Barrett paced Lindsey Wilson on offense going 2-for-3 with a run scored. Catcher Lance Harrington finished 1-for-3 with an RBI, while left fielder Jeff Murphy also tallied an RBI on a sacrifice.

The game remained scoreless until the fourth inning when the Blue Raiders put a run across to take a 1-0 lead. The score went unchanged until the seventh inning when Lindsey Wilson added another score to its lead.

Tiger left fielder Cameron Allen produced an RBI, scoring third baseman Taylor Hatfield, but it was too little too late as the Blue Raiders held on for the 2-1 win.

Georgetown's Kevin Rueff earned the loss in game one, also pitching 7.0 innings but giving up two runs on six hits, while striking out six and walking two.

Lindsey Wilson outhit Georgetown 11-4 in game two, but the error-filled game went in the direction of the Tigers as right fielder Tyler Fisher went 2-for-3 with a home run, three RBI and two runs scored.

Leading by just two runs going into the bottom of the sixth inning, Georgetown belted its way towards five runs to take a commanding 9-2 lead. Lindsey Wilson fought back in its half of the seventh, scoring four runs before bowing out for a 9-6 loss.

Center fielder Dustin Murphy went 3-for-4 with an RBI, while Rhodes went 1-for-4 with a double and scored a run in the loss.

Derek Cape earned the loss for the Blue Raiders, throwing 5.1 innings with two earned runs, eight hits and three walks before Chase Dalton replaced him in the sixth inning.

Lindsey Wilson returns to action at 11 a.m. CT on Saturday, March 20 for another doubleheader with Georgetown.
