Cape named MSC Pitcher of the Week for second consecutive week on Monday.

COLUMBIA, Ky. -- Lindsey Wilson College pitcher Derek Cape is the Mid-South Conference Baseball Pitcher of the Week, the conference announced on Monday. Cape earned the same honor last week after throwing a no-hitter against Davenport (Mich.) University on Sunday, March, 7.
Cape turned in his second straight complete-game performance in a 2-1 win against University of Rio Grande (Ohio) on Friday, March12. The Columbia, Ky., native struck out 11 Redstorm batters while allowing just two hits and a walk in seven innings.
Cape leads the MSC with a 1.13 earned run average and is tied at No. 1 in the conference with three wins. The sophomore has allowed just three earned runs in 24 innings of work on the mound this season.
Lindsey Wilson is 8-7 overall this season and 1-3 in MSC play. The Blue Raiders return to action at 2 p.m. CT on Tuesday, March 16 at Brescia (Ky.) University.
