Five members of the Lindsey Wilson men's basketball team earned conference honors.

FRANKFORT, Ky. -- Kalen Kimberland was named the Mid-South Conference Freshman of the Year as five different Blue Raiders earned a conference award on Thursday at the annual MSC basketball awards banquet held before the conference tournament.

Senior Eric McPherson earned a spot on the all-conference team, while Kimberland and senior Andrija Tintor were honorable-mention choices.

Senior Ismar Neto and sophomore Chase Spreen were recognized as Academic All-Conference with a sophomore or higher class standing and 3.25 or above grade-point average.

Kimberland, a native of Columbia, Ky., is averaging 10.2 points and 3.2 rebounds per game in his first season of collegiate basketball. Kimberland has led the team in scoring four times this season and dished out the most assists in 13 games.

McPherson earns his second straight first team all-conference selection after leading the team in scoring at 13.9 points per game. The senior finished the regular season with 939 career points, good for 13th all time in program history.

Earning his first conference award is Tintor, who has led Lindsey Wilson in scoring and rebounding 10 times this season. The Belgrade, Serbia native is averaging 12.4 points and five rebounds per contest.

Campbellsville (Ky.) University's Nestor Colmenares was named the MSC Player of the Year and St. Catharine (Ky.) College's J.T. Burton took MSC Coach of the Year honors.

Lindsey Wilson -- the tournament's sixth-seed -- faces No. 3-seed and defending MSC Tournament champion University of the Cumberlands (Ky.) at 5 p.m. CT on Friday, March 5.
