FRANKFORT, Ky. -- Five Lindsey Wilson College cheerleaders were honored tonight at the Mid-South Conference Cheerleading Championships at the Frankfort Convention Center.

Lindsey Wilson senior Tiffany Golver and sophomore Heather Gordon earned All Mid-South Conference honors as selected by the conference coaches. The pair was members of the 10-woman team.

Gordon, junior Emily Keeton and sophomores Korianne Cox and Kayla Johnson earned academic all-conference for maintaining at least a 3.25 grade point average on a 4.0 scale and being of sophomore or above standing.

The conference handed out the awards following the MSC Cheerleading Championship.

The Blue Raiders did not place in the top three. Campbellsville (Ky.) University won the title for the second consecutive season.

"I'm proud of everyone's effort tonight," LWC cheerleading coach Eve Fields said. "These ladies have worked incredibly hard this year. Tonight just wasn't our night."

The cheerleading championship is held each season at the conference's basketball tournaments.

The 2011 championship is scheduled to return to the Frankfort Convention Center.
