Women's tennis remains at No. 5 in the NAIA Coaches' Poll as top five remains unchanged.

COLUMBIA, Ky. -- The Lindsey Wilson College women's tennis team is ranked No. 5 in the first regular season NAIA Coaches' Top 25 Poll of the season, the national office announced on Tuesday. The Blue Raiders received 294 points in the poll to stay where they were picked in the preseason ratings last week.

The entire top five of the poll remained unchanged as six-time defending national champion Auburn Montgomery (Ala.) is No. 1 in the poll, where it has been ranked for 42 consecutive ratings.

Fresno Pacific (Calif.) University, which has finished as runner-up in four straight national championships, is ranked No. 2, while the No. 3 spot goes to Concordia (Calif.) University.

In front of the Blue Raiders at No. 4 is Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (Fla.).

Lindsey Wilson advanced to its fourth straight final four of the NAIA National Championship last season and finished with a 13-5 record overall. The Blue Raiders lost to Fresno Pacific (Calif.) University 5-0 in the national semifinals.

Lindsey Wilson captured the Mid-South Conference Regular and Tournament Championships last season, topping Georgetown in the conference tournament final.

Sophomore Trina Slapeka returns to lead Lindsey Wilson in 2010 after being named an NAIA First Team All-America last season.

Slapeka finished the season with a 12-2 singles record and a 10-3 doubles mark while helping the Blue Raiders reach the NAIA semifinals.

The poll was voted upon by a panel of head coaches representing each of the conferences, independents and unaffiliated groupings.

Lindsey Wilson opens its season at Noon CT on March 9 at Union college in Barbourville, Ky.
