Men's Indoor Track & Field - Sun, Jan 17, 2010

CEDARVILLE, Ohio -- Six Lindsey Wilson College freshmen led the men's indoor track and field team to a fourth place finish at the Cedarville (Ohio) University Indoor Invitational on Friday.

The Blue Raiders -- competing in their first event of the season -- finished with 40 team points in the eight-team event. Host Cedarville won the meet with 230.5 points.

Lindsey Wilson freshman Cody Dixon scored a team-high 14 points in a pair of events.

Dixon finished third in the 55 meter dash with a time of 6.70 seconds. He earned the maximum amount of points (10) in the event after being the top collegiate finisher. Dixon added four points in the 200 meter dash with his seventh place finish. Dixon's time was 24.02 seconds.

Joining Dixon with points in the 200 meters was freshman Roscoe Moore. Moore added five points for his fifth place finish. He ran the 200 meters in 23.87 seconds.

Freshman Jairus Kipkemboi earned eight points in the mile run. Kipkemboi finished sixth overall and second among collegiate finishers with a time of four minutes and 29.96 seconds.

Freshman Geoffrey Hayes finished with the sixth best time in the 400 meter dash. He earned four points towards the Blue Raiders' total with his time of 1:00.19.

Kevin Rono added five points with a seventh place finish in the 800 meter run. The freshman completed the 800 meters in 2:60.72. Freshman Charles Martin also scored in the event with his 13th place finish -- he was the fifth fastest collegiate participate. Martin earned four points with a time of 2:12.12.

Lindsey Wilson returns to action on February 13 as the Blue Raiders travel to the DePauw University Invitational in Greencastle, Ind.
