Women's Cross Country - Sat, Oct 17, 2009

WILMINGTON, Ohio -- With two individual finishes in the top 50, the Lindsey Wilson College women's cross country team placed 10th overall in the field of 25 at Friday's Wilmington College Fall Classic with 289 points.

John Carroll (Ohio) University won the team title with 85 points, Otterbein (Ohio) College finished second with 91 points and Wittenberg (Ohio) University placed third with 109 points.

Blue Raider freshman Sharon Ronoh paced Lindsey Wilson in 42nd place out of 244 harriers with a time of 20 minutes and 33.61 seconds. Following closely behind was sophomore Alicia Mattingly in 48th place with a time of 20:40.72.

Four other Blue Raiders joined Ronoh and Mattingly in the top 100, led by freshman Tessa Kasch crossing the line in 21:07.64 for 70th place. Senior Monicah Maiyo took 74th place in 21:10.92, junior Megan Furnish crossed in 77th place with a time of 21:13.70 and senior Amanda Johnson ran the course in 21:35.09 for 97th place.

Junior Chelsea Conway rounded out the Blue Raider finishers in 216th place with a time of 25:51.11.

Lindsey Wilson returns to action at 10 a.m. on Oct. 24 at the Southeastern Classic in Louisville, Ky.
