LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Freshman Kevin Rono broke into the top 100 for the Lindsey Wilson College men's cross country team at the Greater Louisville Classic Saturday, finishing in 27 minutes and 44.90 seconds at E.P. Tom Sawyer Park.

Rono paced the Blue Raiders - competing as a team for the first time this season - in 98th place out of 331 runners in the men's blue division. Lindsey Wilson placed 26th as a team in the field of 33 with 761 points and total time of 2:30:34.30.

Freshman Jordan Green was next across the line in 28:49.80, takin 165th place. Sophomore John Anderson turned in the third finish for Lindsey Wilson in 30:31.90 to finish 242nd .

Also running for the Blue Raiders was sophomore Roberto Vergera in 280th place (31:42.50), followed by senior Tony Perugini in 282nd place (31:45.20). Freshman Charles Martin posted a 32:24.10 to finish 292nd, while sophomore Evan Crowdus rounded out the Lindsey Wilson harries in 310th place with a time of 33:40.50.

Lindenwood (Mo.) University won the classic with 61 points and a total time of 2:11:17.43.

The Blue Raiders return to action at 3:30 p.m. CT on Oct. 16 at the Wilmington College Invitational in Wilmington, Ohio.
