COLUMBIA, Ky. -- Elizabeth Amponsah has signed with the Lindsey Wilson College women's track and field team, coach Edwin Hagans announced on Wednesday.

Amponsah finished 13th in the KHSAA Class 2A State Track Championships in the Girls Shot Put with a throw of 30-5 feet.

"Elizabeth, with consistent training and coaching, will make a big impact for our team," Lindsey Wilson track and field coach Edwin Hagans said."She will take on all categories of the throws.I am looking forward to having the team any coach would like to be a part."

The Franklin County standout earned her trip to the state championships with a second place finish in the shot put at the Class 2A Region 4. Amponsah scored eight points with a throw of 31-5 feet.

She added a sixth place finish with a throw of 70-1 feet in the discus to earn a point and help Franklin County to a fifth place finish in the regional meet.
